Diabetes Over 29 million people suffer from diabetes and this number continues to rise. The prevalence is correlated with the obesity epidemic in the US.
The American Diabetes Association recommend recognizing symptoms that can often go unnoticed:
- Urinating often
- Feeling very thirsty
- Feeling very hungry even though you are eating
- Extreme fatigue
- Blurry vision
- Cuts or bruises that are slow to heal
- Tingling, pain or numbness in the hands or feet
Only a blood test can diagnose diabetes.
Talk to your doctor about how often you should be screened.
